The Macedonian Championship was first contested in 2014. Previously, a Macedonian side known as HK Skopje had played in the Total TV Hockey League in 2012.
Four teams participated in the inaugural edition of the championship, and HK Metallurg Skopje was crowned as the first Macedonian champion.[1] However, the competition was not completed, and the 2015 season is often described as being the first season of the championship.[2]
