The Inter-City League, known as the English League South in 1981-82, was the top-flight ice hockey league in southern England from 1978, when its member clubs broke away from the Southern League. The remaining Southern League continued until 1981 when it to was renamed as English League North. In 1982 the league was replaced by the British Hockey League, running on a national basis.

The Inter-City League also featured junior and second-tier competitions.
