The German Cup (Deutscher Eishockey-Pokal) is the national cup competition in Germany. It has been contested annually since the 2002-03 season.
The first edition of the German Cup was held during the 1969 season. The Eishockey-Bundesliga champion, EV Füssen, did not compete at the tournament due to their participation in the European Cup. The 11 other Bundesliga teams were joined by five squads from the Oberliga in the tournament; which was won by EV Landshut.
Cup competitions were also held during the 1984 and 1988 seasons, as the national leagues went on hiatus for several weeks due to Germany's participation in the Winter Olympics.
