The 1923 German Ice Hockey Championship was the seventh season of the German Ice Hockey Championship, the national championship of Germany. Berliner Schlittschuhclub won the championship by defeating SC Charlottenburg in the final.

Amateur teams belonging to the Deutscher Eislauf-Verband were eligible to participate, but a restriction of two teams from a single place/district was enforced.

The German economic crisis due to hyper-inflation led to the artificial rinks in Berlin and Munich closing. The Berlin teams were forced to practice at the Gleisdreieck Market.

The championship was originally going to be held in Berlin in early January. Due to adverse weather, the site was changed to Lake Riessersee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with the games set to take place on January 16th and 17th.

Heavy snowfall forced their cancellation, and they were again rescheduled to February 18th, with further games intended to be held in Berlin on the 20th. The defending champion, MTV München 1879, was unable to ice a full roster and forfeited, thus leaving Berliner SC and SC Charlottenburg to play at Riessersee to decide the German champion. MTV had originally intended to compete when the tournament was scheduled for January.
