There was also a game played between the second teams of Oxford and Cambridge, called "A" teams. The teams met at Davos, and Oxford won "a fairly even game" 5-2.

Match report[]

An excerpt from Peter Patton's 1936 Ice Hockey publication:

"This was a far better game than any previous one between the Varsities. The Cambridge captain had displayed great energy and taken a great deal of trouble to find the best available material. He was perhaps lucky in getting a team together of which nearly all the members had played in Canada or the U.S.A. He also provided adequate training. He was perhaps unlucky in being opposed to another wonderful Oxford side. For the first time three periods of twenty minutes each were played."
