The 1898 New Niagara Challenge Cup was won by the New Niagara Ice Hockey Club.

Only two results are known, so those were likely the only matches played, and it appears that Niagara and Virginia Water Bandy Club were the only two teams to participate in the tournament.
- January 7: New Niagara Club - Virginia Water 7:2
- January 8: New Niagara Club - Virginia Water 10:3
After the January 8 game it was noted that Niagara had won, "becoming holders of the 50-guinea Challenge Bowl".
